ComparePetCover is an independent comparison service. It is free to use, and some insurer links may pay us a fixed referral fee. To keep the site free, some links to pet insurance providers on our pages can be advertising or affiliate links. This page explains what that means for you.
What this disclosure means
When you click certain links to a provider and then request a quote, that provider may pay us a fixed referral fee. The fee does not depend on whether you buy a policy, and we are not paid more if you do. This costs you nothing extra: the price the insurer quotes you is the same as if you had gone to its site directly.
How it affects what you see
Partner relationships do not change our scores or the order of providers in any table: our state and city comparison tables and our homepage table are ordered by our published score. Short tables and lists show some of the providers we rate, not all of them. Each provider's score is in its review. A partner may point out a factual error or a legal compliance issue in content that mentions it. We correct errors; we do not change a score, a provider's position, or our opinion at a partner's request. We never accept payment for a favorable review. A provider that pays us nothing is scored on exactly the same basis as one that pays us.
Which links are paid
Not every link is a paid link. Some “Get a quote” buttons may pay us a referral fee and others do not. A paid link carries a sponsored tag in its code, and our state and city comparison tables carry a notice about paid links above the table. A paid link passes through impact.com, the affiliate network that records the click so a referral fee can be credited to us. We do not receive the details you enter on an insurer's site; the insurer handles them under its own privacy policy, and it may know that you arrived through our link.
